Those are the reasons why I attended this year's Pennsylvania Society of Land Surveyors (PSLS) annual conference, held for three days in early January at the Hershey Lodge and Convention Center. While there I attended 5 separate classes and obtained 21 hours of Continuing Education Credit. The classes were: How to Make a Boundary Determination That Will Win in Court; Boundary Line Agreements; Avoiding the Pathway to Trouble; Survey Reports; and AutoCAD Civil 3D Essentials. In each of these classes I was provided with information that I could use to increase the quality of our professional services and benefit our clients.
But it was not only the classes that led to the educational opportunities. The exhibit hall provided the chance to interact with equipment and software vendors, representatives from the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, the PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Underground Utility Locater Services and more. All of which add to that pool of resources at Howell Kline Surveying's disposal to better assist our clients.
And last but not least I had the pleasure of discussing surveying with other surveyors from across Pennsylvania and adjoining states that are experiencing similar challenges and finding innovative ways of dealing with those challenges.
In conclusion, we at Howell Kline Surveying, LLC look forward to the opportunity to put this newly gained knowledge to work for our clients. And remember ...you never stop learning.
